Column: Despite DNF, mountain didn’t win
Published in The Sheridan Press June 19, 2017
This was a hard column to write. After not finishing a 52-mile trail race I’d been training six months for, I was in rough condition. But what I learned about myself and not just the running community, but the trail running community, that day is what has pushed me to continue trail and ultra running.
Spoiler alert: I did go back twice more, and on my third attempt I finally crossed the finish line in 2019.
